far away in the sunshine….

Every week I will be posting “thought of the week”.  I have a book with quotes and thoughts that I started in high school – quotes from songs, movies, books, speeches, etc.  Some are funny, some are sad, some are clever, some are cheesy.  But one way or another, at some point in my life, they made me laugh or they made me cry.  Or they just made me feel better.  And I decided to share the best ones with you.

So… without further ado – here is the thought of this week:

“Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations.  I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them and try to follow where they lead”. (Louisa May Alcott, author of Little Women)

oh conner…. those eyes will break hearts.

You have to admit – this little one is pretty darn cute.  I can’t stop looking at his eyes.  He is only 4 months old and he had the wisest look in his eyes.  Curious little Conner.

It was a full afternoon – we did a double shoot of him and his cousin Harper (her newborn photos coming soon).  Lots of feeding, changing diapers, feeding again, keeping them warm, feeding again and calming them down in between.  Keeps the adrenaline going I guess 🙂

Enjoy his little face.

ryan and treasea (the freakazoids)

I am so excited – this is my first (official) post on my new blog (which has taken me  a while to get going but it is going now and i am really really happy with it).

These are my friends Treasea and Ryan who wanted some family pictures – unfortunately we chose a day that was super, s.u.p.e.r. windy, it was almost dangerous to be outside (ok that’s an exaggeration but it was bad).  However, TC and Ryan were as fun(ny) as ever and it all ended up being ok.  Phew!

the 20’s are roaring in 2010

Those of you who know me (or have spend a Halloween or two with me) also know that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the 20’s era.  Like, I LOVE IT!!! Like I am pretty sure I lived my previous life during the 20’s.  So naturally, I have the clothes, the accessories and the wigs.  In case one day I need to go back there (the 20’s that is).  And in case I (and several of my friends) need an emergency outfit for Halloween.
So to make the long story short – my friend Susan and I went to Boulder City a couple of weeks ago because someone told us that there is a train station there.  There is a train station there, with moving trains and all but it was closed on Friday.  Well that didn’t stop us (some of us may have even jumped the fence in their dress and wig and all ).  We kept changing outfits in the car and driving around Boulder City to find spots to take pictures (she btw is also a photographer and took pictures of me and I took pictures of her).  Surprisingly not too many people thought we were crazy.  We did have the usual creeps come by the train station to see what we were doing and why we were dressed up.  But even with that we had a BLAST.  It was just so much fun.  I had so many favorite pictures – it was hard to narrow it down.

Some call me Neesie. - I really like these photos. What fun! The poses are creative and just perfect. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have beautiful models too 🙂April 27, 2010 – 6:16 am
